Bhubaneswar: Protesters board train by purchasing tickets, earn praise from railways

BHUBANESWAR: Around 500 passengers from Dhenkanal district staged a rally in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday demanding tribal status to several Sabar people, who are known as Saara in the government files and do not get tribal status.
While returning Dhenkanal, they all purchased train tickets to board Puri-Angul MEMU by paying Rs 10,000. East Coast Railway (ECoR) has praised the protestors for not travelling in trains without a ticket.

“We purchased 500 unreserved tickets for everybody and requested Bhubaneswar station authority to provide more time to board their train at the station,” said Debashish Hota, leader of the group.
It is seen that several people attending massive rallies at Bhubaneswar do not purchase tickets and travel in trains without a ticket. “This will set a very good example for the general public,” said an ECoR statement.
