One held for molesting, blackmailing minor, 2 others absconding

Greater Noida: A 24-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl early this month and later threatening her that he would leak the video he had made during the act.
The minor told her mother that on February 8 around 2.30pm, when she was walking back home from a grocery shop in her village in Dadri, three men stopped her midway, overpowered her and took her to an empty plot, where they molested her.
She studies in a private school in the village.
“She managed to run back home, but could not tell anyone about the crime because the men threatened to make the video public,” her uncle stated in a complaint filed at Dadri police station.
However, this did not stop there. Over the past one week, the three allegedly blackmailed her, saying they would leak the video if she did not make physical relation with them.
“They also threatened to kill the girl and all our family members,” the complaint further reads.
On Saturday, the Class VIII student finally revealed her predicament to her mother, who then informed a relative, who works with Uttar Pradesh police in Meerut. Her father is a farmer, said police.
The minor’s uncle filed a complaint at Dadri police station and the three men - Vikas, Sumit and Suresh – were booked under IPC Section 354 B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The accused men were absconding since the day the complaint was filed. We managed to nab Vikas on Monday from the village following a tip off. He was then produced in a district court that sent him to jail. We are trying to nab the other two accused,” said Rajesh Kumar Singh, the deputy commissioner of police (zone 3).
