New Delhi: India’s Citizenship (Amendment) Act, or CAA, has now made its way to the weekly newsletter issued by the Islamic State. In a strongly-worded editorial, the IS, also known as ISIS or Daesh, has condemned the act passed by the Narendra Modi government, as well as the state of Muslims in India.

The editorial invokes ideas of religion and patriotism, and argues that regardless of Indian Muslims’ loyalty towards their country, they are being kicked out.

The editorial states that in India, “Hindu polytheists” have dominated and ruled the country “by way of democracy”, but now the Hindus are “in a hurry to issue different laws that deprive Muslims of citizenship”. Such laws would pave the way to throw Muslims out of their homes, it contends.

‘Democracy is detrimental for Muslims’

The IS editorial is deeply critical of democracies, and says they have detrimental effects on Muslims.

It says the “rulers” and “polytheists” of a democracy ill-treat Muslims by expelling, displacing and depriving them, and that Muslims have to face such a treatment regardless of their patriotism. This happens to Muslims regardless of whether they are a minority or a majority in a nation, it states.

The editorial also contends that regardless of their religion, Muslims serve the country they are living in. Therefore, Muslims living in India are very patriotic. But democracies inherently seek to stifle Islam. And after the Muslims have “lost their entire religion”, their “brothers in patriotism” also turn against them. Soon enough, Muslims have to face “bad torture”, killing, capturing, and have their money confiscated.

The IS editorial ends by saying that all the above-mentioned atrocities are being conducted in India against Muslims.
