Andhra Pradesh: 40-year-old rowdy-sheeter stabbed to death in Anantapur

TIRUPATI: A 40-year-old rowdy-sheeter was stabbed to death near Gooty Road in the district headquarters town of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Khader Basha, a resident of Rani Nagar in the town.
After being alerted by the public, Anantapur DSP Veera Raghava Reddy, inspector Prathap Reddy and other police personnel rushed to the crime spot and shifted the body of the deceased to the government general hospital at Anantapur for post-mortem.
Eyewitnesses told the police that moments before his death, the deceased was seen quarreling with another rowdy-sheeter, identified as Sikander Basha.
Locals told the police that Khader Basha and Sikander Basha were having an altercation and in a fit of rage, Sikander Basha stabbed Khader Basha in his chest and fled away from the spot. The victim succumbed to injuries before help could arrive at the spot.
Anantapur police who registered a case have laid a hunt for the main accused Sikander Basha who managed to abscond after the incident.
