Restaurant sealed amidst ruckus in Mama Ni Pol

Vadodara: High drama ensued in the Mama Ni Pole in the Raopura on Monday morning when Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) teams reached there to seal a restaurant. The owner of the restaurant and an aide entered into a confrontation with the team and had to be detained by police.
The incident took place when officials tried to seal a Kathiyawadi food restaurant in the locality. The restaurant was operating in violation of rules from a space categorised as a residential building. VMC had received a series of complaints against the restaurant .
When VMC officials reached the site with security, the owner and his aide became aggressive and alleged that the restaurant was being sealed at the behest of the mayor, a charge that mayor Dr Jigeesha Sheth denied.
The VMC team called the police that took away the owner and his aide. The restaurant was sealed after the duo was taken away.
