The shooting of upcoming Odia film GaanraNaa Gaaluapur has been going on at different places acorss the state. The movie has comedian Papu Pom Pom in lead role, and he is cast against debutant actress Manisha.
The initial shooting of the film was held in a village in Nayagarh district and now the shooting for the remaining portion has been going on around Bhubaneswar. The film is based on government policies on swachha bharat and curb open defecation.
“We all know how the governments have been trying to make India or Odisha open defecation free. But people hardly change their old habits. They even take money from government to set up toilets but never use them. Even several people show one toilet to get the money from government. The movie tries to show these aspects in a comic way,” said Pranay Jethi, media coordinator of the film.
The film is directed by Jitu Mahapatra while Nandalal Mahapatra has written the script and dialogue. Several veteran actors like Rabi Mishra, Manisha Mishra, Kuna Tripathy, and few others are working in this film. Moreover, controversial jatra actress Ranee Panda will be seen in an item number in this film.
