Puneites feel the heat as temperature soars in Pune

PUNE: The city sizzled with maximum temperature hitting 33.7 degrees Celsius on Monday while the night temperature was reported to be at 16.1 degrees Celsius.

The day temperature was 2.1 degree above normal whereas the night temperature was 4.1 degree above normal.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky is expected to be partly cloudy between February 19 and February 21 in Pune. The day temperature may remain around 34 degrees Celsius and night temperature is expected to see a rise from 16 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius till February 23.

According to IMD, across Maharashtra, the lowest minimum temperature reported was at 38.1 degrees Celsius at Santacruz in Mumbai while the highest maximum temperature reported in the State was at 12 degrees Celsius at Nagpur. The weather across the State is expected to remain dry till February 20.

NATIONAL SCENARIO
Under the influence of Western Circulation, light isolated to scattered rainfall/snowfall activity very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit - Baltistan and higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh till February 19.

As per IMD, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains from February 20.

According to IMD, dense fog is very likely in isolated parts of Odisha on February 18. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh during the same time.

On February 20, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusting wind is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and west Uttar Pradesh and with lightning likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
