Copper futures slide on soft demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Copper futures on Tuesday traded 0.67 per cent lower at Rs 432.50 per kg as speculators reduced their exposure on weak spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for February delivery fell by Rs 2.90, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 432.50 per kg in a business turnover of 2,914 lots.

Similarly, copper contracts for March delivery traded lower by Rs 2.35 or 0.54 per cent, at Rs 436.10 per kg in a business turnover of 163 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in spot market mainly pushed down copper prices here.
