Adampur coldest in Punjab at 4.1 degrees Celsius

Adampur was the coldest place in Punjab at 4.1 degrees Celsius as minimum temperatures hovered below normal limits at a few places in the state and neighbouring Haryana on Tuesday.

Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Ludhiana, too experienced a cold night, recording respective lows of 6.5 degrees Celsius, 7.7 degrees Celsius, 7 degrees Celsius, 6.7 degrees Celsius, 7 degrees Celsius and 7.4 degrees Celsius, a meteorological department official said here.

The respective minimums at Patiala and Pathankot, which hovered close to normal limits, settled at 10 degrees Celsius and 8.2 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a low of 9.7 degrees Celsius.

Narnaul was the coldest place in Haryana registering a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius.

Karnal, Rohtak and Sirsa, too, experienced a cold night recording respective minimums of 7.4 degrees Celsius, 8.2 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius.

Ambala and Bhiwani's minimum settled within normal limits at 9.6 degrees Celsius and 9.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
