KOLKATA: The Jorabagan police have come across an organized local Ponzi company that has raised more than Rs 9 lakh from the north Kolkata neighbourhood promising the “investors” a huge return. “It seems that despite all the awareness drives, people are still investing in the fly-by-night groups or trusting their money with a few individuals,” said an officer from Kolkata Police’s north division. The accused persons cheated the complainant, Ajit Shaw (32) and others to the tune of Rs 9, 28, 000.
