Two lionesses found dead in Amreli

Rajkot: Two lioness carcasses were in as many days in Amreli district at different locations. The forest department is investigating the cause of death in both the cases. However, prima facie, nothing suspicious was found, said forester officials.
According to forest department, carcass of a lioness aged 9-12 years was found dead in Jasadhar range of Ghelipat area.
The second carcass of 8-9 years old lioness was found from a farm well in Anida village of Khambha revenue area. The farm belongs to Kalu Findalia. The primary reason for death was drowning.
The carcass of both lionesses were sent to animal care centre for postmortem.
