TRICHY: Trichy district collector S Sivarasu on Monday launched Thirumathi Kart, an e-commerce mobile application for self-help groups to promote their products.
The main aim of this application is to link the customers with SHGs which will eventually empower women with an imperishable income.
The app was developed by the computer science department at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy. The Department of Science And Technology (DST) sponsored the project.
Sivarasu appealed to the SHG members to make use of the app.
NIT Trichy director Mini Shaji Thomas said Thirumathi Kart is a bridge between SHGs and the customer.
