Worker of SoBo Chinese joint arrested for flashing woman in Mumbai

MUMBAI: An restaurant worker was arrested on Saturday for allegedly flashing and masturbating in front of a woman at Marine Lines last week. The accused, Alamgir Bakurli Mandal (21), works for a Chinese restaurant in south Mumbai, said the police.
The woman who works at the office of a foreign consulate was sitting opposite Parsi Dairy Farm in morning hours on Wednesday and was speaking on her cellphone when the accused came close to where she was. Before she realised what was going on, he unzipped in front of her and indulged in the objectionable behaviour. As the woman started screaming aloud, he fled, said the police. The woman later lodged a complaint at LT Marg police station.
An officer from LT Marg police station said that the man was identified on the basis of footage from cameras installed along the stretch and identified the man who was seen entering the restaurant where he worked. He was brought to the police station where the woman identified him after which he was arrested.
The police said that they have inform the owner of the restaurant about the case and the accused is likely to be sacked from his job.
Mandal has been charged with outraging a woman's modesty under sections of the Indian Penal Code.
