Pune: Social activist appeals to people to unitedly oppose CAA, NRC and NPR

PUNE: Social activist Sushma Andhare appealed to the people to unitedly oppose Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA), National Register of Citizens(NRC) and National Population Register(NPR) and ask questions about the unfulfilled promises of ruling BJP. Andhare made this appeal while addressing a public meeting in Pimpri after the conclusion of tiranga rally.
Various social organisations from Pimpri Chinchwad have formed Sanvidhan Bachav Samiti to oppose CAA, NRC and NPR. Sanvidhan Bachav Samiti had taken out a tiranga rally from Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi through Pune-Mumbai highway to Babasaheb Ambedkar chowk in Pimpri.
Andhare said, “Ask what has happened to the government’s promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in our bank accounts? What has happened to Make in India? What has happened to the promise of increase in GDP?".
She said that nomadic tribes will be more affected than minorities.
She said that they will continue to agitate CAA, NRC and NPR through non-violence despite of provocations and win. “Set-up good educational organisations and increase provision for education and health instead of spending money on CAA, NRC and NPR”, she added.
