Share market update: Metal shares decline; Welspun Corp down 3%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with losses in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Welspun Corp (down 2.6 per cent), Hindustan Copper (down 2.11 per cent), Coal India (down 1.77 per cent), MOIL (down 1.28 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 1.25 per cent), National Aluminium Company (down 0.98 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (down 0.73 per cent), Hindalco Industries (down 0.54 per cent), JSW Steel (down 0.33 per cent) and NMDC Ltd (down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.24 per cent down at 2607.2 around 10:23 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.05 points at 12091.4 , while the BSE Sensex was down 37.57 points at 41,220.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, LIC Housing Fin, SBI, SAIL, Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC, Bharti Airtel and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
