The launch of its anticipated SUV, the DBX, will be a major event for Aston Martin this year. But the British sports car brand has another critical introduction for 2020 — the Vantage convertible.
Unveiled last week, the convertible expands the Vantage line from a coupe, which was redesigned for a 2018 launch.
The Vantage convertible is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine with 503 hp and 505 pound-feet of torque. It's offered only with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
Aston Martin says the convertible adds 132 pounds to the weight of the coupe. The fabric roof can be lowered or raised in less than seven seconds, according to the company.
Pricing for the convertible model starts at $164,086, including shipping, and the car will reach U.S. showrooms in the third quarter.
Aston Martin also said it will introduce a seven-speed manual transmission on the Vantage coupe for the 2021 model year. Coupe prices start at $149,086 with a manual transmission and $156,081 with an automatic transmission. Both prices include shipping.
Previously, Aston Martin offered a manual transmission only on the limited-run Vantage AMR.
