KURUKSHETRA: Police in Kurukshetra registered a case of immigration fraud after a resident of Kurukshetra district alleged that he is not able to contact his 24-year-old son, who was sent to a foreign country by some immigration agents in January. Complainant Lal Chand of Bhaini village in Babain area of Kurukshetra, accused three agents of duping him of Rs 8 lakh on the pretext of sending his son to a foreign country.
On Friday, Lal stated to the police, “My son Aman Kumar was unemployed and a while ago, I along with Aman met Amarjit Singh, who told that his son Sumit lives in Indonesia. He told us that Sumit is married in Indonesia and his father-in-law is an owner of a company in Japan. Amarjit told that they need some men for work and he can send my son to Japan and provide a work permit.”
“Amarjit demanded Rs 9.5 lakh to settle my son Aman in Japan. They said we would have to pay Rs 8 lakh in advance and they will send Aman to Japan within a month. I gave Amarjit Rs 1 lakh cash at Bhaini village and Rs 7 lakh was transferred to his Axis Bank account,” added Lal.
