Bengaluru: Realtor loses Rs 2.5 lakh to Facebook friend from London

BENGALURU: A 51-year-old realtor has filed a police complaint stating that an unidentified woman cheated him of Rs 2.5 lakh on the pretext of buying land.
Arun Kumar of Kalyannagar told Banaswadi police that Isabella from London had told him she would purchase 40 acres of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru by paying Rs 4 crore.
"We were friends on Facebook since last year. Shehad sought my help to buy land. Saying she would send me Rs 4 crore, she collected my bank account details and emailed me a few forms which appeared to be from the Reserve Bank of India. After filling the forms, she asked me deposit Rs 2.5 lakh into an account as customs duty. Since then, she has remained incommunicado," his complaint read.
