KANPUR:
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday alleged threat to his life from a “BJP leader” after a man chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ during a women’s conference at the party office in Kannauj on Saturday.
Akhilesh was attacking the
BJP government over unemployment and price rise during the programme when a man interrupted him and asked what he proposed to do if his government came to power. The SP chief asked the man to come closer saying he could not listen to him. At this, the man chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
“I have received a threat call and a message from a BJP leader. I have saved the message in my phone and will inform media about it in Lucknow soon,” Yadav said.
Inspector, Sadar Kotwali,
Vinod Mishra said: “We will book the man, identified as Govind Shukla, for disrupting peace.”
