Ailing Lalu may be taken to AIIMS Delhi: Rims docs

RJD leader Lalu Prasad at Rims
RANCHI: The team of doctors looking after jailed RJD president Lalu Prasad at Rajnedra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) here has in-principle decided to refer him to a higher medical centre to get a second opinion on the his line of treatment. The doctors, however, added that Lalu is stable and there was no need for panic.
Dr Umesh Prasad, who heads the team, said, "We are of the view that he should be sent to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for a check-up. This will help us understand if there is something amiss in our treatment."
Dr D K Jha, who is attending to Lalu on a regular basis, said the former Bihar chief minister has been at Rims for around one-and-half years and it is logical to get him examined at a top medical institute.
