PATNA: Altogether 15,29,393 students, including 7,83,034 girls, will appear for the Matriculation (Class X) examinations from Monday. The exams, which are conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) in two shifts, will begin with the science paper at 1,368 centres across the state.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishor on Saturday urged the students to avoid rumours related to the leak of question papers. “The Board has prepared 10 different sets of question papers. Therefore, there is no chance of leak,” Kishor said, adding students won’t know which set of questions they get in the examination.
Addressing mediapersons here at Board office, Kishor pointed out that instructions have been issued to the DMs, DEOs, centre superintendents and security personnel to ensure that no unfair means are being used during the exams. “Students will be frisked twice before entering the examination hall. They have also been asked not to wear shoes and socks at the centre. Electronic devices and gadgets are also restricted,” he said.
The officials concerned have been asked to enforce Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in a radius of 200m around the examination centres to prevent gatherings.
The chairman pointed out that there will be one invigilator for every 25 students and a videographer for 500 students. “All the examination centres are equipped with closed-circuit television cameras,” he said and added candidates can only carry their admit card and a pen to the centre.
Besides, students will get OMR sheets for writing objective-type questions and use of whitener will be prohibited. If caught, their copies will be rejected.
The Board has set up control rooms in each district and issued helpline numbers to register complaints related to exams.
Kishor also appealed to the candidates to reach the centre 10 minutes before the commencement of examination to avoid last-minute hassles.
