UP bar council panel to probe court violence

Allahabad: Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh (BCUP) on Friday set up a nine-member committee to probe the violent clash between lawyers at a district court of Lucknow.
The council directed the committee to submit a report by March 1.
On February 13, three lawyers were injured after a vrude bomb went off on the premises of a district court in Lucknow, following a clash between two rival groups of advocates. Chairman of BCUP Hari Shankar Singh said that appropriate action would be taken after the committee submits its report.
The members of the bar council who would be a part of the committee are Ajay Yadav, Arun Kumar Tripathi, Paresh Mishra, Abdul Razzak Khan, Akhilesh Awasthi, Prashant Singh Atal, Janki Sharan Pandey and Pradeep Kumar Singh.
The Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh is armed with the power to take appropriate action against lawyers in case of proved misconduct.
