SSV School routs American School’s dreams by 60 runs

Vadodara: Yug Shivle’s brilliant knock of 34 and Jenish Solanki’s 4 wicket haul helped SSV School to clinch an easy win over American School on the fourth day of the Maharani Shantadevi U-19 Inter School Tournament at the PTC ground here on Saturday.
After winning the toss, American School sent SSV School boys to bat first. But within one hour, seven of SSV’s batsmen were sent back to pavilion, with just 61 on the board in 20 overs.
Apart from Jenish Solanki’s fiery knock of 21 in just 25 balls, the eighth wicket partnership between Yug Shivle (34 in 73 balls) and Neel Patel (27 in 45 balls) helped the team get past 100 runs on the board. The duo troubled the American School bowlers and added 69 runs in 14 overs. Medium pacer, Bhavin Parmar, finally broke the record stand when the bowler clean bowled Patel.
Tailenders could not add much on the scoreline leaving SSV boys were all out for 144 in 38.1 overs as Parmar ran through the batting line-up of American School claiming 7 wickets.
American boys started the chase with a slow start on good batting pitch. The scoring rate was kept below three runs an over, however, the team kept losing wickets at frequent intervals. Bhavin Parmar again came to the rescue of the school, with a quick knock of 24 in 19 balls, but Jenish Solanki claimed his wicket in the 28th over to end all hopes of the American boys, who were all out for 84 in 32.2 overs.
Jenish was adjudged man of the match for his knock of 21 and a 4 wicket haul.
