The two men slipped into the ditch on Ajwa Road on Saturday
Vadodara: Two men residing on the Ajwa Road area in the city created quite a scene on the road to embarrass the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) after their motorcycle slipped and fell into a ditch filled with water on Saturday. The duo sat in the ditch with their motorcycle and said they would not move till the issue is resolved.
The incident took place on Saturday morning when the duo was travelling together on the same motorcycle. They tried to avoid the ditch filled with water, but somehow ended up falling in it. Since they had been seeing he ditch since quite some time now, they decided to sit at the site itself in protest.
Opposition Congress councillor from the area Anil Parmar said that the two men Ghanshyam Parmar and Vijay Patil were known to him.
“They called me after the incident and said that they would sit there itself in protest. There is a leakage in a water supply pipeline at the spot since 15-20 days. It was repaired twice, but the problem recurred,” said Parmar.
Parmar pointed out that VMC officials swung into action soon after the protest and the pipeline was repaired. “I requested the duo to leave the place to which they agreed,” he said.
