PATNA: JD(U) functionary and state information and public relations department minister (IPRD) Neeraj Kumar on Saturday raised questions over the swanky customized bus which the leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will use during his ‘Berojgari Hatao Yatra’ scheduled to begin from February 23.
Neeraj showed various documents to media persons to establish that the bus was registered in the name of a person belonging to BPL category. However, the mobile number in the document was that of a former RJD MLA, he said.
Neeraj said the bus was registered with state transport department in the name of one Magal Pal on November 29 last year, but contact number of the owner was that of former RJD MLA Anirudh Yadav.
Neeraj said Pal was a resident of Hidayatpur village in Bakhtiyarpur and belonged to extremely backward caste. He even presented documents showing Pal’s approval by the block development officer and deputy development commissioner in February 2008 to be included on the BPL list.
“While Mangal Pal is a poor man, Anirudh is a former RJD MLA and a muscleman. RJD has done another fraud and Tejashwi should explain how a poor person could afford such hi-tech bus,” the IPRD minister said.
Describing Tejashwi’s yatra as ‘shahi yatra’, Neeraj said while RJD chief Lalu Prasad believed in land deals, his son has turned hi-tech to boost family’s benami property.
However, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari said the JD(U) and BJP leaders were nervous before Tejashwi’s yatra and trying to divert people’s attention from the main issue of unemployment. “They have been ruling the state for past 15 years just by blaming Laluji. Such tricks will not work anymore. We have hired this bus and since they are in government, they can do the investigation,” Tiwari added.
Lalu’s son to address public meet today: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s younger son and leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad will hold public meetings at Madhubani and Purnia for three consecutive from Sunday, his close aide Sanjay Yadav said. “Tejashwi will raise issues like CAA, NRC, health, education and unemployment at the meetings. On Sunday, he will address a gathering at Pyare Ram Swaroop Uchcha Vidyalaya at Korahiya in Madhubani. He is also scheduled to address public meetings at Bisfi Intermediate School in Madhubani on Monday and Vaisi in Purnia on Tuesday,” Yadav said.
