Gujarat: Class IX, XI exams between April 1 and 11

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced that the class IX and class XI examinations will be conducted between April 1 and April 11. The decision to conduct the examinations was taken up after the department decided to prepone the academic session.
Earlier, the examinations were scheduled between April 7 and April 18. The new academic session will begin from April 20 and the summer vacation will be from May 4 to June 7.
The state government has earlier in order to bring uniformity to the academic years of the central board and the state board, had decided to begin the academic year from April 1 instead of June 1.
As of now, schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) begin their academic year on April 1 while GSHSEB schools begin on June 1. However for the current academic year the new academic session will begin from April 20.
