Vidya Balan stands in support of Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh', says actors should be allowed to do a movie if they like it

Last year, there was a lot of buzz around Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh', with some celebrities and netizens calling it 'toxic' and 'regressive'. However, now, Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has come out in support of Shahid. At a recent press conference, she said that if people don't like a particular film they should not go and watch it. She added, 'If the actor liked it, he should be allowed to do it.' Furthermore, touching upon the topic of herd mentality on social media, Vidya said that if someone calls a film 'regressive' on the internet these days, there are 100 others who call it so and that's how it spreads. She also questioned if they even knew the meaning to the word 'regressive'. Vidya also said she feels that it has become necessary to be seen taking a stand that does not even matter.
