Haryana: SHO among five suspended for irregularities at police station

ROHTAK: Haryana home minister Anil Vij on Thursday placed five officials, including Station House Officer, under suspension after a surprise raid by him found serious irregularities at the Civil Lines police station here.
The minister was here for a monthly meeting of the district public relations and grievances committee. Later, during his visit to the police station, he found three loaded weapons - two carbines (long gun fire arm) and a pistol-in a wooden almirah "unattended".
Handing over the weapons to the Rohtak superintendent of police, he ordered for inquiry to fix the responsibility and ordered the suspension of five officials. Speaking to media at police station, the minister said that as per rules, the weapons need to be deposited at the government 'malkhana'.
"I have taken in possession documents from the police station, including several FIRs, which should have been handed over to the complainants. Lots of complaints, which were also found in the almirah, had not been registered in the form of daily diary report (DDRs)," the minister added.
