Sheena Bora’s card was used after murder: Banker

Sheena Bora
MUMBAI: A bank branch manager who had handed over Sheena Bora murder accused, Indrani Mukerjea’s credit card statement to CBI, deposed before the special trial court on Thursday. CBI contended that in June 2012, over two months after the alleged murder, the card was used to buy a $2 (Rs 110 in 2012) “recovery kit” to recover Sheena’s email account.
The witness, the 62nd to depose in the trial against Indrani and her ex-husbands Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukerjea, said he was working with the bank’s Worli Sea Face branch in November 2015, when CBI forwarded the request. During cross-examination by Indrani’s defence advocate, Gunjan Mangla, he denied that he intentionally left out other transactions in statement at CBI’s behest.
Two others, both panch witnesses, also deposed. The matter has been adjourned to February 20. CBI claimed that Sheena (24) was allegedly abducted and murdered on April 24, 2012, by her mother Indrani, Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai in a conspiracy planned with Peter.
Rai has turned approver in the case and deposed as prosecution witness.
