'One-punch attack on a woman': police pursue two men
The husband of a woman who was allegedly punched unconscious and robbed in Sydney's west on Wednesday night, has said she fears going outside.
Mikato Pearce, 50, was walking to Kingswood train station on her way to work at 5.15am on Wednesday morning when she was approached by two men.
CCTV of the event shows two men approaching the woman before one of them punches her and causes her to fall on the ground. The men then take her backpack, which held her phone and wallet.
NSW Police Detective Inspector Jason Pietruszka said the men then left the woman on the ground unconscious.
Ms Pearce returned home and was taken to Nepean Hospital by her partner, where she was treated for multiple facial injuries. She has since been released.
Mr Pietruszka described the attack as "horrific".

"It was a one-punch attack on a defenceless 50-year-old woman who's simply going about her business and going to work. It was completely unacceptable, it is awful," he said.
"The injuries are one thing, they will heal, but the trauma of what she went through, that may last a very long time."
Jeffrey Pearce, the woman's husband, told Nine News when she got home, her shirt and jacket were covered in blood.
"Someone has attacked my wife, and I wasn't able to protect her. She is a beautiful person - mostly calm. [She] doesn't deserve this," he said.
Mikato Pearce had to go to hospital for significant facial injuries after she was robbed on Wednesday night.
"She doesn't want to go to work ... she's not comfortable walking to the station anymore, I don't blame her."
Police have released photos of two men they believe can assist with their inquires.
One of the men was wearing a black polo shirt, blue shorts, a black cap, and white sneakers.
The second man was wearing a blue Puma t-shirt, black shorts, a black cap, black sneakers, and carried a black shoulder bag.
Both men had bicycles with them.
Anyone who may have information that could assist with the identity of the men should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
