MUMBAI: An association of
vehicle retailers asked its members to plan the liquidation of their BS-IV norms compliant
vehicle inventory with the 31 March deadline in mind after a plea to extend the time limit was rejected by the apex court.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers' Associations (
FADA) had asked the
Supreme Court to extend the deadline to sell and register BS-IV norms
compliant vehicles, arguing that dealers would incur the losses on any unsold inventory.
However, the court refused to look into the merits of the case and was in no mood to consider any extension, Ashish Kale, the president of FADA said in a message shared with the association's members.
"FADA did try its best to put forth our arguments but the court was very clear in its earlier decision of 31st of March deadline and was in no mood to consider any extension," Kale said. "Do plan liquidation of inventory as per the deadline."
