According to police, the accused Aasman, 19, a resident of Nepal, was arrested while travelling to Manali in a bus to sell the charas. The court had sent him to police custody.
On Wednesday, the police had brought him to Manali to identify the buyer. When they were near a private bus stand here, the accused managed to flee from the spot. Assistant sub-inspector Tej Singh, head constable Mukesh Kumar and honorary head constable Badrinath have been suspended.
Mandi superintendent of police Gurdev Chand Sharma said the three cops have been suspended for negligence in duty. "We have laid nakas to arrest the accused. Police teams are searching for him at all possible locations."
