Will announce strategy at Swabhiman rally: Ashok Tanwar

Ashok Tanwar
HISAR: Former state Congress president and former MP Ashok Tanwar, who left the party before the assembly elections, said at the proposed Swabhimaan rally in Karnal on February 16 a strategy for strong opposition will be announced. According to him, Congress is as good as extinct.
However, Tanwar, who was accompanied by his supporters, including Navdeep Godara, has denied that he will be forming a new party.
Tanwar said although Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been at the losing end after the landslide Lok Sabha victory, people are also very clear that Congress cannot be the alternative. He also accused of Congress MLAs of "match fixing" due to which, Congress is deliberately kept out of forming government. "Similar match fixing has been done by senior Congress leaders in Haryana this time too. This is the reason that there is no opposition in the present government because the Congress is also indirectly involved in this alliance. This is the reason that 31 Congress MLAs have fallen asleep after the elections," said Tanwar.
According to Tanwar, in the coming elections in Haryana, the Congress will be limited to 4 to 5% of the votes. Commenting on Delhi turn of events, Tanwar said people chose Arvind Kejriwal as he is being perceived as lesser evil. "But he is not an alternative to Modi," added Tanwar.
On CAA, he said it was wrong to give citizenship on the basis of religion. Besides, he said it would cost Rs 4.5 lakh crore to conduct NPR and NRC, and the government has no budget.
