The Nifty February 2020 were at 12,129.10, a premium of 15.65 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 12,113.45 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's & options (F&O) segment was Rs 12.46 lakh crore compared with Rs 28.46 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 61.20 points or 0.50% to 12,113.45.

The NSE's India VIX up 2.03% at 13.6425. A rise in volatility indicates instability in benchmark index.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 27 February 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 27.67 lakh at the 12,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 37.79 lakh contracts was seen at 12,000 strike price. The option chain suggests that the Nifty will trade between 12,000 to 12,500 levels in February.

Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India (SBI) and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Bharti Airtel February 2020 futures were at 565.55, compared with spot closing price of 563.60. SBI February 2020 futures were at 321 compared with spot closing price of 319.90. RIL February 2020 futures were at 1,491.90, compared with spot closing price of 1,485.85.

The February 2020 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 27 February 2020.
