Nagpur: Goons damage vehicles to avenge attack by rivals

NAGPUR: Goons, armed with sword, went on a rampage at Vandevinagar, Panchavatinagar and Dhammadip Nagar after one of their aides were attacked by the rivals on Thursday.
Several bikes, cars and light carrier vehicles were smashed in the attack which was perpetrated to ensure that the rival gang gets the message of their anger. The rivalry is likely to aggravate in the sensitive locality of the city.
CCTV footage has also captured the desperate manner in which the gang members have damaged vehicles.
A substantial mob had gheraoed the Yashodhara Nagar police station seeking arrests of the goons who have also threatened people opposing them.
The gang member, who was also injured in the assault, is from butcher community. He is now recuperating at a government hospital.
In the city, twice in the last year, such incidents have taken place where the goons have targeted vehicles in the localities of their opposite gangs.
Yashodhara Nagar police have registered offences against the gangsters.
Zonal DCP Neelotpal said that already four have been detained and police were trying to round up the rest.
