Ceiling fan falls on boy’s head in school

VADODARA: A student of Class III suffered injuries on his head after a ceiling fan in his classroom at the Bright Day School’s CBSE unit on Vasna-Bhayli Road fell on him on Wednesday.
The ceiling fan fell on two students when the classes were over.
Of the two, one suffered grievous injuries on his head. The school authorities took both the students to a private hospital where they were treated.
“It was an accident as the fan fell down suddenly. We took both the students to the hospital immediately and have also explained the situation to the parents,” said Bhavik Parekh, principal of the school.
When parents of other students learnt about the incident, they went to the school on Thursday to inquire about the safety of their children.
The school authorities explained them that they have started checking the condition of all fans in the school.
TOI tried to contact parents of the boy who was injured, but the calls went unanswered.
