Bay Teacher of the Year

New teacher of the year...the finalists were named at tonights annual dinner.

Of the top five...there were two high school teachers , on efrom middle school and two from elementary...i had the privilege to emcee the event held at edwater beach resort... the overall winner is gregory barron, from mosley high school!

Barron is an economist with a degree in finace.

When the recenssion put him on the unemployment line, he decided to change careers and became an educator.

He says he is honored to represent his school as teacher of the year.

"winning the award was not expected ,it's a complete surprise ,it's wonderful to put mosley high school in the lime light for a moment ,because we have such a wonderful school ,it's just such a tremendous honor , i am so happy and pleased to be apart of it in any manner especially the winner " barron wins three thousand dollars in cash, a tropical cruise and gift card and will represent bay county at the state level.
