Two Andhra University professors under scanner for misbehaving with girl students

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two professors of Andhra University came under the radar of Visakhapatnam cops for misbehaving with the girl students. Cases were registered against both the professors.
It is recalled that a chemistry department faculty was arrested under Disha Act following he was allegedly misbehaved with a government woman employee while travelling on a bus a couple of days ago. With the alleged misbehaviour with the girl students, the prestige of almost 100-year-old Andhra University has been on the verge of tarnishing.
The faculty were identified as Social Work Department Head Ragala Swamy Das and associate professor in the department of MarineLiving Resources Kondamudi, Ramesh Babu. Cops registered cases against them under section 41/109 of CrPC. The case against Ramesh Babu was also registered under 498 on the complaint lodged by his wife.
Speaking to media personnel on Thursday, the deputy commissioner of police (Law and Order-I) G Ranga Reddy said that Ramesh Babu’s wife lodged a complaint against him by alleging that he has been maintaining an extramarital relationship with a scholar in AU.
The other professor was taken into custody based on the news reports appeared in newspapers and inquired about it. The inquiry revealed that the professor has been misbehaving with the students and also using double meaning words at girls.
DCP Ranga Reddys advised the students that they should not lose their individuality or their character for degrees. If anyone comes forward and reveals the atrocities of the faculty, cops would take action and also keep the complainants' particulars in secret.
