Shawn Thames honored at State House during Black Excellence on the Hill event

BOSTON - At the State House on Feb. 11, Rep. Alan Silvia, D-Fall River, recognized Shawn Thames for his commitment and service to the Fall River community.

The Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus hosted Black Excellence on the Hill to celebrate black culture, excellence and achievement in the Commonwealth.

Thames is a lifelong resident of Fall River and a Durfee High School graduate. Of many achievements, Thames is known for his apparel line conveying messages of positivity such as the popular "Raised By The River" shirts bearing an image of the Braga Bridge. He is also a long time volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA.
