GHAZIABAD: In the wake of the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) order on encroachments in Kaushambi, the municipal commissioner directed officials to recover penalty imposed on four commercial establishments last year for encroaching on green belts and pavements.
A penalty of Rs 3 lakh each was imposed by the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation in October last year on Dabur and Radisson Blu, while Yashodha Hospital and Angel Mall were fined Rs 4 lakh and Rs 2 lakh, respectively. “Barring Dabur, the fine has not been paid by anyone. So I’ve written to zonal in charge of Vasundhara to recover fine within two days, failing which action will be taken against him,” said Dinesh Chandra, municipal commissioner.
