NAGPUR: Four persons, of whom one was stabbed and another hit by brick on head, were injured in two different cases of road rage in the city within 24 hours.
Police have so far arrested six persons, including four having serious criminal records, for their alleged role in the crime.
In the first incident shortly before Tuesday midnight, two painters were allegedly attacked by goons at Ambedkar Chowk. It’s learnt that Ramavtar Rajput and Nilesh Ganvir were heading to their residence at Kushi Nagar after work.
On the way, Singh and Ganvir raised objection after a group of around six people on two bikes grazed past them. The group returned to confront Singh and Ganvir. One of them pulled out a knife and started stabbing Ganvir.
The others thrashed Singh who later approached Jaripatka police to lodge a complaint. The Jaripatka police team led by senior PI Khusal Tijare and comprising head constable Roshan Tiwari and others rounded up Goldie Shambarkar, Akash Katare and two others.
In the other incident, Rahul Ghadge and his friend Swapnil Thakre were attacked by two goons, including a minor, over a quarrel. It’s learnt that Thakre and Ghadge, heading towards Shatabdi Chowk, were overtaken by Ankur Dhakate and a minor on the bike.
Ghadge and Thakre objected to Dhakate and his aides driving rashly. Dhakate and the minor, both having several offences against them, returned to the spot and picked up a fight with Ghadge and Thakre.
The minor then picked up a brick and hit Thakre on his head while Dhakate and Ghadge were scuffling. The onlookers raised an alarm and alerted police control room. The cops from Beltarodi police station reached the spot and nabbed Dhakate and Thakre.
