Currency In Circulation Jumps 1.1% On Weekly Basis

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation jumped by 1.1% on the week to stand at Rs 23.37 lakh crore as on 7th February 2020. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money edged up by 0.20% on the week to Rs 29.44 lakh crore.

Currency in circulation rose around 11.6% on a year ago basis compared to 18.5% spurt at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has grown by 9.4% so far while the reserve money expanded by 6.3%.
