EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Benchmark indices were trading flat with a negative bias as investors reassessed the scope of the coronavirus outbreak after China's Hubei province reported a record rise in the death toll on Thursday.
The S&P BSE Sensex dipped 70 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 41,500 levels. IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech (both down 1%), and HIndustan Unilever (down 0.9 per cent) were the top laggards in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, State Bank of India (up 2%), Titan and ONGC (both up 1%) gained the most.
The broader Nifty50 index gave up the 12,200 mark and was hovering around the 12,180 levels, down 17 points, or 0.14 per cent.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap was trading flat and the S&P BSE SmallCap index ticked up 25 points, or 0.17 per cent.

RESULTS TODAY
On the results front, almost 615 companies, including BPCL, Page Industries, Nestle India, and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, are scheduled to announce their December quarter results today.
