2 dead in car crash; cops deny role of Karnataka minister’s son

BALLARI: Two persons died and three others injured when a recklessly driven high-end car went out of control and overturned on NH-50 in Ballari district’s Hospet taluk on Monday afternoon. The dead have been identified as 19-year-old Ravi Naik, who was sipping tea at a roadside stall, and Sachin, 27, who was in the car.
The three injured were in the car and they have been identified as Shivakumar, Rakesh, and Varun, all from Jalahalli, Bengaluru. Sources claimed the car was being driven by the son of Karnataka revenue minister R Ashok .
The car (KA-05-MW-0357) is reportedly registered in the name of a prominent chain of school and the minister is on the school management. Police identified the car driver as Rahul and said he was not the son of Karnataka minister.
