Gurugram: Druggie rapes minor daughter for months

GURUGRAM: A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter repeatedly over the past several months in Shivaji Nagar. He is a drug addict and alcoholic and allegedly often committed the crime while intoxicated, police said.
He will be produced in court soon and sent to judicial custody.
The child's mother works as a domestic help and is often away during the day, while her father is a rickshaw-puller. He raped her several times in the past few months after consuming drugs or alcohol while her mother was away working, the minor told police. She confided in her mother about her ordeal on Tuesday. Her mother then took her to police and filed a complaint at Shivaji Nagar police station.
"Whenever I was away at work or in another room, my husband raped her without my knowledge. He even made her sleep in a separate room so that at night, he could rape her without letting me know," the mother told police.
The man also allegedly threatened the child that if she ever told anyone about the crime, including her mother, he would kill her. Afraid, the minor never spoke out until Tuesday.
An FIR was filed against the father under Section 6 (punishment for aggressive penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act at Shivaji Nagar police station on Wednesday . He was arrested later. "After the complaint was filed, we recorded the child's statement in the presence of a magistrate," a police officer said.
