THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health department has decided to end the home
quarantine of 1,040 people who have travelled from the COVID-19-hit regions to the state. The decision has been taken since they have no symptoms and also have completed 28 days of quarantine.
Now, 2,455 people are under observation in the state, of which 24 are in the isolation wards of hospitals in the state. Of the 389 samples sent for testing at
National Institute of Virology in Pune, 354 results have confirmed as negative. The remaining results are expected in a day or two.
Health minister
K K Shailaja chaired a meeting of rapid-response team here and decided to modify the guidelines for home quarantine. It was decided in this meeting to end the home quarantine of the people who have completed 28 days. But the meeting decided that even though no more positive cases have been reported from the state, those who are in the quarantine should be under the strict monitoring of the health team until they complete 28 days of quarantine.
