Parents of murder accused brothers attacked, both critical

Poloce investigating on the spot of crime on Thursday, after a couple was attacked in Kailashnagar area
Surat: Parents of a murder accused were attacked by two unidentified persons on Thursday evening in Kailash Nagar area in limits of Athwalines police station.
The victims — 50-year-old vegetable vendor Jayesh Patel and his wife Amita (45), suffered grievous injuries.
They are parents of Akshay and Bonny, who are currently lodged in jail for allegedly killing a 17-year-old youth Jaimish alias Kili Patel, in Kailash Nagar on December 25 last year.
Jayesh and Amita were selling vegetable near Jalaram Khaman at around 7.30 pm when the assailants who arrived on a motorcycle attacked them with sharp and blunt objects. The victims suffered injuries on head and chest.
“Both the victims are critical and they are being treated at a private hospital. We are examining CCTV footages to identify the attackers,” said a police officer.
Police suspect that the atttack on couple was linked to Jaimish’s murder. The incident is believed to be part of series of bloody crimes in which so far two persons have been murdered.
According to cased details, one Bunty Kahar was killed in November 2018 by Jaimish and his associates in Kailash Nagar over an four-year-old dispute that originated during a volleyball match.
To take revenge of Kahar's murder, Akshay and Bonny allegedly killed Jaimish last year following an argument.
