Student dies in bike accident

Mangaluru: Karthik Mallya, 20, an evening college student who had also taken up a part-time job, died in an accident on Thursday. Police said the accident took place when the deceased was riding a motorbike from KPT towards Nanthoor.
A tanker hit his motorbike from the rear, due to which he fell, after which the tanker ran over him. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru East Traffic police station.
Man falls from tree, dies
A man died after he fell from a tree in a village at Subrahmanya on Thursday. The deceased is Sunil Kumar, 34, a lodge employee. He reportedly climbed the tree to cut its branches, without following safety measures.
A case been registered under section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) at the Subrahmanya police station.
