During the final day of his committal hearing in the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday, Dawson's brother-in-law, Ross Hutcheon, said he had spotted Lynette Dawson three to six months after her January 1982 disappearance.
Dawson will next appear in court in April before facing a six-week trial later in the year.
