JAIPUR: Four persons were killed in a road accident on Wednesday night near Chohilanwali village in Hanumangarh. The accident occurred after the front tyre of the car in which they were travelling burst. The driver lost control and the vehicle hit a brick kiln.
The deceased, identified as Mukesh Verma, Navin Verma, Dharampal and Ajay Kumar, were all in their 20s.
The vehicle was completely destroyed, and the passengers were trapped inside.
The victims were returning from a wedding when the accident occurred. One person also suffered minor injuries.
“There were five people in the car. While four died on the spot, one was injured. The accident happened after the front tyre on the driver’s side burst. The driver then lost control of the vehicle. The car swerved and collided with a brick kiln. The car was badly damaged and the passengers were trapped inside it,” said SHO Nandram Bhadu, Hanumangarh Town police station. All the victims are relatives.
“The victims could have escaped with a few injuries if not for the collision which was very severe. Looking at the condition of the car, it is difficult to believe that there are any survivors. There is damage to both the front and back portion which appears to be beyond repair. The vehicle almost broke into two. The injured person is undergoing treatment at the district hospital and is stable now,” added the official.
The post-mortems of the deceased were done on Thursday and the bodies handed over to the family.
